INDUSTRY ANNOUNCEMENT MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO ANNOUNCES Fellows will participate in workshops designed to help produce, present and promote (St. Paul, Minn. - January 31, 2002) Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) is pleased to announce the 2002 Integrated Media Fellowship program. The program is an opportunity for public radio professionals to better understand how to integrate broadcast and Web content production for local and regional news audiences. The second of two one-week residencies is scheduled for April 22 - 26, 2002. Public radio professionals (broadcast producers, editors, Web producers and marketing professionals) are invited to apply. Ten Integrated Media Fellows (Fellows) will be invited to attend. MPR hosted its inaugural Integrated Media Fellowship program November 12 through November 16, 2001. During the week, Fellows attended a combination of hands-on and theoretical sessions designed to address both the challenges and the opportunities of Integrated Media in public radio. Karen Dillon, Listener Services Director at WVTF Public Radio in Roanoke, Virginia said, "The sessions were intense, but full of information and extremely helpful and detailed." She added, "The entire week was wonderfully educational. I feel so fortunate to have been selected to participate in the IMF!" The April Integrated Media Fellowship will include workshops to introduce Fellows to tools and systems that will help them further develop the skills needed to produce, present and promote public service programming through multiple integrated media. Fellows will participate in intensive sessions with industry experts and training leaders on topics related to radio and Web integration for local and regional news audiences. Topics include:
In addition, Fellows will again have the opportunity to work directly with reporters, editors, and producers engaged in MPR's integrated media projects. Thanks to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, MPR will provide a travel and lodging allowance for all Fellows. All workshop materials and equipment will be provided, including a digital camera for each Fellow to keep. To learn more about the Fellowship, or to submit an Integrated Media Fellowship application, please visit our Web site at www.mpr.org/imf. The Integrated Media Fellowship is supported by funding from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
